Grand Prix events are enormous, incredible celebrations of Magic the Gathering, which is wonderful – but it means you might have questions about some of the details. We’ve compiled some of the questions we get most often into an FAQ, hoping that we can save you some time wondering about those details so that you can enjoy our Grand Prix events more easily.
Registration and Pre-Event Questions
I want to sign my friend up for this event. Is that OK, and how can I do so?
Of course! We understand that not everyone uses credit cards or PayPal, and we also know it can be fun to purchase GP registration as a gift for someone else as well. Just sign up using their name and DCI number (remember to get theirs!) and then fill in your own information when it comes time to process your payment.
I filled out my name/my DCI number/something else incorrectly when I registered. What should I do?
It’s no problem at all. Simply email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the corrections and we’ll make those on our end. If you have a confirmation email, please forward that to us as well as it will make it easier to identify your registration.
Something came up, and I need to cancel my registration. How can I do that?
We’re always sorry to hear that, but we know other things can take priority. Email us at email@example.com to request a refund.
Is on-site registration available?
We offer on-site registration on Friday at our Grand Prix events during normal hall hours, but online registration is your best bet. There is no Saturday registration for Grand Prix events, on-site or otherwise, so make sure you sign up on or before the Friday of the event!
Registration Package Questions
If I have byes and a sleep-in special, how do I submit my decklist?
In this case, you must submit your decklist online by 9 AM on Saturday, March 11th, via our online decklist submission form. Please note that this only applies to players with at least one bye.
If I register but can’t/don’t attend, can I still get the goodies that come with my registration package? If not, can I buy those items from you?
No, we can only give those goodies to players who register for and attend the event. If you can’t attend, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a refund.
Event Operations Questions
I’m registered, I’ve got my email confirmation, and I’m ready to go. Do I need to check in on Friday or do anything else?
Nope! Once you’re registered, you’re all set. Just show up on Saturday before the player meeting, find your seat when it’s time, and be ready to play Magic and have fun! The only things you’ll need are a completed decklist and waiver form. We’ll have decklist forms on site, but you can download one below. As for the waiver, it must be submitted electronically by 10 PM on Friday, March 10th. You can find the link below.
Is there a charge to enter the event hall even if I don’t plan to play in the main event?
Nope! There’s no fee at the door, so if you’d just like to come check things out, please feel free to do so. We’ll have artists and vendors on hand, side events you can pay to enter as you choose, and lots of other awesome attractions – including the amazing Magic that will be played all weekend in the main event area, which will be a ton of fun to watch!
What are the policies for trading at your events?
Trading is, of course, permitted at our Grand Prix events, but some things aren’t permitted on site and may result in ejection from the venue without refund. Examples include:
– Buying, selling, or soliciting to buy or sell cards with anyone except Authorized Vendors.
– Altering or offering to alter cards in exchange for money or any type of compensation.
– Taking up excessive space while trading or transporting excessive amounts of trade stock.
– Advertising without permission from ChannelFireball.com event staff.

I registered, and thought I was going to attend, but I missed the event. Can I get my registration package goodies? If not, can I get a refund?
We can’t give registration items to players who miss the event. If you registered but weren’t able to make it to the event, email us at email@example.com to request a refund.
I won prizes in the main event of one of your Grand Prix events. How will I receive my prizes?
